The Belkin Tune Cast Universal FM Transmitter will not get in your way with it’s slender 7 cm length. It’s small enough that it could easily get lost in between the seats for a few day, if you dropped it accidentally.
It is simple to set up, you plug it into the 12V socket for power and then plug it into your smartphone, laptop or MP3 players. Match the frequencies on the FM Transmitter and FM radio and presto, you should start to hear
your music play through the FM radio.
But…let’s dig a little deeper and reveal a bit more shall we.
Once you have it powered up, you press the “C” and you will see the frequency displayed.
On top of the micro unit are three buttons. M1 and M2 are the memory buttons, and one top of those are the pro button.
M1 and M2 are the memory presets, you can add two of your favorite frequencies, which can be handy if you travel. The “Pro” button on top is a very nice addition to the FM modulator.
It will cycle through four different transmission modes:
- Normal
- Pro 1 Sound Increase
- Pro 2 Sound Increase which pumps volume even higher.
- Mono
If you are like most people, you will probably only use Pro 1, since Pro 2 can distort the audio.
Even though this is a fine addition to the Belkin product line, I believe it fails to take into account broadcast distance and the fact you can’t really use it in your house or other places like work. The broadcast range is just too weak.
It’s why I have chosen to write my next blog post about the Whole House 2.0 and compare it too the Belkin.
